In 2015 I built a big, cozy recycled Christmas house in the center of Copenhagen, where anyone could come and make their own gifts for free using only recycled stuff and their imagination. The house itself was made out of scrap wood and discarded aluminum billboards, and the materials to make the presents were gathered here and there. The place was open for 24 days in December: thousands of adults and children came to make T-shirts, birdhouses, toys, and so on. Sometimes the solution to a problem is simply giving people an alternative.
