Workshop with a Wizard’s Tower
The first challenge was to turn an old building that was falling apart into the very heart of the studio. It took months of effort to re-do the roof, insulate the walls, and redesign the inside. The external walls are covered with aluminum billboards from the Metro construction sites in Copenhagen: the Metro company didn´t know what to do with them, so I found those panels a new home that was not the landfill. This 200 square meter workshop is the place where I build complicated sculpture parts such as faces and feet for my Trolls. With my crew, we are here every day using chopsaws and screwguns to cut, assemble, and attach. My office, the “Wizard’s Tower” is on top of the workshop with a giant birdhouse on the roof.
